Bradford County’s Community Development Department offers incentives to low income individuals and families to assist with home repairs or with the purchase of a home.

If you are interested in applying, your must first sign your name to our waiting list.  Our office is located in Suite E of 925 North Temple Avenue in Starke, Florida. You will be contacted to let you know when funds become available.

Purchase Assistance funds can be used for the down payment and closing costs associated with the purchase of a home.  You must complete our Homeownership classes and be pre-approved with your first mortgage lender before your SHIP application will be approved.

Repair Assistance funds can be used for home repairs related to health, safety, and sanitation.

FAIR HOUSING INFORMATION

On January 7, 1991, the Board of County Commissioners of Bradford County, Florida adopted Ordinance No. 90-11, which established the policy of the County to promote equal opportunity to obtain adequate housing by all persons, regardless of race, color, religion, sex, familial status, handicap or national origin.

This ordinance is available for public inspection at the Office of the Community Development Director located at 925-E North Temple Avenue, Starke, Florida 32091 Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M.

Any aggrieved person may file a complaint of a housing discrimination act with the:
